The Norfolk Education Foundation supports a variety of programs that help attract and support the best teachers to the district, and ensure they have the tools they need to give their students a first-rate education.
New Teachers Programs
The Norfolk Education Foundation supports induction and mentoring programs to ensure that new teachers are prepared and supported throughout the year.- NEF sponsored the NPS tenured teacher celebration
NPS National Board Academy
Strong Teachers are the cornerstone of strong schools -The Norfolk Education Foundation is funding the district’s efforts to build a corps of Master Teachers steeped in the latest research on teaching and learning so they can serve as instructional leaders within their schools.- NEF supports the NPS National Board Academy. This program gives classroom teachers the tools and support need to succeed and to implement effective reform in their classrooms and schools.
- Over 53 NPS Teachers have successfully completed the rigorous National Board Certification process to be deemed a Master Classroom Teacher.
