By supporting the following programs, our donors are driving resources directly into Norfolk classrooms, ensuring that students have access to enriching learning opportunities and consistent, high-quality lessons.Seeds for Success Mini-Grants
The Norfolk Education Foundation is committed to helping educators provide enriching opportunities for their students and to ensuring that they have materials needed to address student’s individual learning needs.The Seeds for Success mini-grant program allows individual schools to apply for funding to support activities that go beyond the school’s limited budget. Examples of funded projects include:
- Funding to help build a Publishing House at Sewells Point Elementary School that allowed students to write and publish their own books.
- A new green house at Oakwood Elementary School that aided 5th graders in having hands on experience with their science curriculum.
- Students at Lake Taylor Middle School built their very own watershed buffer garden that provided them hands-on learning while increasing their proficiency in science, math and technology.
- And many, many more!
