Recognition of Excellence
Employees throughout Norfolk’s schools serve as catalysts for this national recognized system. Therefore, it is only appropriate that the Foundation provide recognitions of excellence. Aside from financial support, Board members take an active role in supporting the Teacher of the Year selection, the Inspiration awards, the Retirement Banquet, All-Staff Rally and School Bell Awards.This component of our mission is one of the most important as it serves to thank those individuals who have contributed to the success of Norfolk Public Schools.
During the 2009-2010 school year the Norfolk Education Foundation recognized the accomplishments of NPS students, teachers, and staff through the funding the following programs:
- All Staff Inspirational Rally
- Teacher of the Year Reception
- School Bell Awards
- Inspiration Awards (Classified Staff)
- NPS Retirement Reception
